Welcome Back Westies! We all want to make sure that our students and teachers get off to the best possible start, and need MANY volunteers the first week of school to make sure that happens!
We are looking for some parents to help out everywhere the kids are - the bus loop, car rider lines, walkers, hallways, lunch in the cafeteria, and in the office! There are many options, and all are important! Please consider taking a shift somewhere and help ensure that the first week flows smoothly.
We're looking for additional help for our new Kindergartners during their first week. For many kids, it's upsetting to see Mom/Dad, Grandma/Grandpa, so we're looking for non-Kindergarten parents to help with check-in / arrival and afternoon dismissal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
** Kindergarten parents, there will be plenty of other opportunities to help as we settle into the school year **
If you have any questions please email Erin Upchurch at
There are a lot of ways to be an involved parent! Sometimes we are looking for the gift of time, and sometime we are looking for a food or drink donation for a school event. Many of our events and activities require a lot of parental support to be a success. There are many ways to help!
Casey Kwitkin, our Volunteer Coordinator, will use the Sign-Up Genius website to recruit Volunteers for school events. You will find these links on this page, the VESPTO Facebook page, and you should receive them via e-mail. Please email Liz at email@example.com to make sure she has you on her email list!
Q: I want to volunteer but I need to bring my younger child with me, is that ok?
A: Simply put, maybe! It really depends on the child, and the task.
When in doubt, ask!
Q: I want to volunteer but I can’t commit to the times on the sign up genius. I need to leave early/come late to a shift.
A: That is just fine! We will gladly have your help for whatever time you can give. Just put a note on the Sign Up Genius or let the volunteer coordinator know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: I signed up for a shift/donation but my schedule has changed and I am no longer available.
A: No problem, things happen! Please let us know of any changes via the Sign Up Genius or at email@example.com.
Q: I have an item to donate as requested, but I’m not sure where to bring it.
A: Thank you for your donation! Please drop it in the front office with a note saying where it belongs (i.e. teacher’s name, library, music, art room, etc.)
